Returning Letterman


Scott Kennedy
Scott Kennedy, Senior

Scott has played for the Lancers for the past three years. He has played on both the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams and returns this year as a three-year letterman. He is an infielder playing shortstop, second and third base. Scott considers his strengths to be hitting and his competitive spirit. His favorite memory from last season was winning a game against Olathe Northwest where he went three for four, with one of those hits a double off the fence.  He also made the last out to win the game. During the off-season, Scott is a Varsity basketball player for the Lancers. He is also a member of NHS. His goals for this baseball season are to limit his errors, hit .350, hit 4 homeruns and make it to the state tournament.  His favorite team dinner last year was the upside down pizzas served by his mom, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Jensen.
Scott has two older siblings, Betsy and Tommy, both students at KU. He attended Prairie Elementary and Indian Hills. Scott is adding to his collection of money as an employee of Chik-Fil-A.
He loves strawberries and collects shoe boxes.

Gabe Miller
Gabe Miller, Senior
Gabe has played for the Lancers the past three years and has played on all four teams moving up his freshman year to sophomore team, from Junior Varsity to Varsity his sophomore season and  on Varsity last year. He is a second-year returning letterman. Gabe pitches and plays first base and considers his assets to be his size, strength and composure. His favorite memory from last season was a big win as the pitcher over Lawrence Free-State, the #1 team in the league at that point. During the off-season Gabe has been hitting, pitching and throwing to get ready for baseball. As a Lancer, Gabe was also a Varsity letterman in football and is involved with DECA. His goals for this baseball season are to beat SMS at Kaufman Stadium, to improve his overall performance and help the team make it to the state tournament. Gabe has two older siblings, Hannah and Forrest. His favorite team dinner last year was meatball grinders served by Mrs. Zeller. He attended Corinth Elementary and Mission Valley Middle School. He is the founder of the Super Smash Bros. gaming competition that takes place regularly amongst the Varsity baseball team members.
Stu Jensen
Stewart Jensen, Senior

Stewart comes to the Lancers as a three-year letterman and has played on the Varsity team all three years. He plays in the outfield and considers his strengths to be his speed, hitting and competitive attitude. His favorite memory from last season was celebrating the big win over Lawrence Free-State, where he hit three for four, at Taco Johns in Lawrence.  During the off-season he has been hitting at least three times a week, throwing as much as possible, lifting and conditioning. His team goal for this season is to win regionals and make it to the state tournament. His personal goal is to hit at least 400. As a Lancer, Stewart was also a Varsity letterman in football and is a member of the Chamber Singers. Stewart’s favorite team dinner was the meatball grinders served by Mrs. Zeller. He has an older sister, Betsy, at MU, and two younger brothers, Kurt, a sophomore at SME and Charlie, a 6th grader. He attended Corinth Elementary and Mission Valley and as a hobby enjoys making fun of the guys that play Super Smash Bros.

Zach Amrein
Zach Amrein, Senior

Zach has played for the Lancers for three years and returns as a two-year returning letterman. He played on the JV team as a freshman and the Varsity team as a sophomore and junior. He plays in the outfield and pitches. Zach feels his strengths are fielding and batting. His favorite memory from last season is the awesome team dinners, with his favorite, the meatball grinders served by Mrs. Zeller.  During the off-season Zach has been getting ready for baseball by hitting, pitching, throwing, lifting and conditioning. His goals are to play his personal best and make it to state. As a Lancer, Zach played soccer for two years and has been active in DECA. He attended Prairie Elementary and Indian Hills and has two brothers, Sam, a junior at SME and Will, a 7th grader.
He is also a member of the Super Smash Bros. gaming group.

Jackson Harter
Jackson Harter, Senior

Jackson is a second-year returning letterman and plays third base, DH and pitches. He played JV as a freshman and Varsity the last two years. He considers his strength to be his composure and the fact that he is a smart player. His favorite memory from last season is handing it to Rockhurst in a BIG way on their home field!   It was a blowout! Goals for this upcoming season are to hit .400 and to win the state tournament. During the off-season, Jackson has been playing Varsity basketball for the Lancers. His favorite team dinner last year was the hotdogs that were wrapped and served in coolers at the Amrein’s house. Jackson attended Briarwood Elementary and Mission Valley Middle School. He has a younger brother, Harry, an SME freshman. Jackson is an “occasional” member of the Super Smash Bros. video gaming group.


Collin Carter, Senior

Collin Carter, Senior

Collin is a first-year returning letterman for the Lancers and is a catcher and outfielder. He played on the C team as a freshman, the JV team as a sophomore and last year on Varsity. He considers his greatest asset to be his hitting and his intimidating size. His favorite memory from last season is winning the wood bat game against SMN when he hit a home run. During the off-season, Collin has been preparing in the weight room to get stronger and throwing, hitting and catching with Gabe and Zach. His personal goals include hitting 25 RBIs and three home runs. He expects to help his team make it to the state tournament this year. As a Lancer, Collin was also a Varsity letterman in football this year.  Collin’s favorite team dinner from last year were the meatball grinders served by the Zellers. He attended Westwood View Elementary and Indian Hills Middle School. He has an older brother Keaton and a sister, Kennedy a 7th grader. He is also a member of the Super Smash Bros. video gaming group.

Alex

Alex Cox, Senior

Alex is a first-year returning letterman for the Lancers. He played on the freshman team his first year, on JV as a sophomore and on the Varsity team last year. He is primarily a pitcher and played in the outfield some last year.  Alex considers his pitching and his overall will to win as his greatest assets for the team.  During the off-season, Alex has stayed in shape by playing recreational soccer and basketball. He has also been pitching and hitting three times a week.  His goals for the season are to win state and help the team grow and be the best they can be. His favorite memory from last season was celebrating the big win over Lawrence Free-State by eating at Taco Johns in Lawrence with the Varsity team. His favorite team dinner from last year was the upside down pizzas served by Mrs. Kennedy, Mrs. Jensen and Mrs. Miller.  As a Lancer, Alex played Varsity soccer and was the goalie. He has also been involved with Share. He attended Prairie Elementary and Indian Hills Middle School and has an older brother Nicholas. He is an occasional gamer with the Super Smash Bros. gaming group.
Dylan Becker

Dylan Becker, Junior

Dylan is a first-year returning letterman and plays middle infield and outfield. He played JV as a freshman and Varsity last year. He considers his strength to be his quickness, competitiveness and his fielding and hitting. His favorite memory from last season was hitting a home run, along with then-senior Brady Anderson and Junior Collin Carter, in the wood bat game against SMN. His favorite team dinner was the meatball grinders served by Mrs. Zeller. During the off-season, Dylan has been practicing all aspects of baseball with his summer team. He has also been visiting colleges and looking at baseball programs at the collegiate level. His goals for the upcoming season are to do his best and help the team win and compete at state. Dylan attended Prairie Elementary and Indian Hills Middle School. He has an older brother Justin. His hobbies include competing against his teammates at Nintendo 64 as a member of the Super Smash Bros. gaming group.
